Retreats at Cortijo Carranque

The tranquil setting in the midst of the Andalusian countryside, the beautiful surroundings, the private stone chapel, and a real sense of God at work in this place, make Cortijo Carranque a very special location for personal and group retreats, and in particular rest and refreshment for those in Christian Leadership.  There are 3 ways to retreat with us:

• Personal Retreats for individuals or couples 
• Sabbaticals  & longer breaks
• Group Retreats  with your own church or group 

Personal Retreats

A retreat at Cortijo Carranque is unlike that which most Retreat Centres offer in that there is normally no programme or speakers, and the only bells you will hear are the cow and sheep bells tinkling as they come down to the river to drink.  What we provide is a peaceful space that enables you to draw close to the presence of the Lord, and allow Him to meet your deepest needs as only He knows how!  How you organise your time will depend on each individual and what works best for you – some will want to go walking in the hills or work in the garden, for others it is an opportunity to just “be still” in the presence of the Lord.  Some will want to catch up on some spiritual reading, while others may be more in need of some restful sleep!  One to one guidance and prayer ministry with one of the team is available for any who would like it; otherwise how you use your time is between you and God.

Sabbaticals and Career Breaks

Sometimes we reach a point in life when we need to take a longer break to reconsider our life's direction.  At Cortijo Carrranque we offer sabbatical breaks of up to 3 months.  Here you will find a refuge where you can receive refreshment, rest, and some space in which to gain a fresh perspective on your life and a new sense of vision.  For those seeking a break of a month or longer we somtimes have a self-contained cottage available where you can truly find a “home from home” here.  contact us for availability.

Church Groups

One of the visions of Cortijo Carranque is to be a RESOURCE for local churches and Christian groups.  You are welcome to come and use the venue to organise your church away-day, training event or retreat, or alternatively we can help you plan and lead your event.
